To require the compulsory disclosure of the percentage and weight of water added to meat at point of sale
To require the compulsory disclosure of the quantity and quality of water and other additives used to increase the weight of fresh meat and other products. Water quality must be guaranteed pure, sterile and free from additives unless disclosed. Labelling must be clear and disclose the original weight of the product before and after the water is added as well as the true weight and volume of the water. Products that do not have water added must clearly display a statement to this effect. All products must be randomly sampled to check that the labelling is correct within reasonable error.
