In the world's first democracy, that of Athens, the policy of ostracism was introduced. Citizens voted for the ten year exile of public figures who they believed were damaging to the state or who they had just had enough of.
I propose that there should be an annual write in ballot whereby the person we are most fed up with ( be they politician, press baron or reality tv star) is exiled from the United Kingdom for a ten year period.
