Bank interest rates to match inflation
Normally the banks need depositors money to run their business but rarely pay interest rates that match or exceed inflation.
This means our money is worth less each day.
Since the introduction of the government's cheap Funding for Lending scheme this issue has been even more detrimental to people's savings.
Banks should be forced to pay an interest rate that matches inflation at the minimum if only to restore some trust in them by the public that not only fund them but, in some cases, actually own a majority share in them.
