Credit Reference Agencies should pay public for their information

This petition asks the UK Government to implement measures to ensure that members of the public are paid for the information about them that is sold to other companies through credit reference agencies.

The credit reference agencies depend on the economic activity of individuals to provide their content.They then sell this content without paying anything to the contributor.

Contributors should have the right to opt into payments when access to information about them is requested from a Credit Reference Agency; or at the very least, where access about them is requested and a contract or commercial agreement is subsequently established.
