Compulsory competency and language tests for those recruited into the health and elderly care sector from outside the EU

Additional Information

Due to the heavy dependency of the health and elderly care sector on the use of staff recruited from outside the EU; particularly from Africa and the Fast East, countries which often are poorly developed which has consequent effects upon the level of medical training available to them.
With this in mind, should not the government insist upon compulsory competancy and language tests, supervised under the auspices of the NHS, to ensure that the staff recruited are of an appropriate calibre to meet the high standards required of the sector.
