Increase jail sentence for people carrying a knife
The latest legislation introducted by government for a person carrying a knife is a custodial sentence - a minimum six months for an adult or a four-month detention and training order for 16 and 17 year olds.
I want to see the minimum custodial sentence increased to at least a minimum of 5 years.
We need to get knives off our streets. Too many young lives are lost unnecessarily.
