THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LIVERPOOL CARE PLAN (LCP) & VOLUNTARY EUTHANASIA (VE) FOR PATIENTS:
1 LCP is given without consent; VE is given correct protocol & consent
2 LCP deaths are torture, few hours to 14 days; VE within minutes
3 LCP withdraws nutrition, fluids, oxygen & dignity; VE continues with fluids etc, dignity & less suffering
4 LCP not a Moral case for Medical Team to quickly use a tick box checklist & gain Financial Rewards; VE is with choice, say & control!
5 As a Nation under LCP we treat patients much less humanely than our pets; under VE it is more humane
6 LCP is more costly, unplanned & halts bed blocking; VE is efficient & planned
If LCP IS A LEGAL BACK DOOR EUTHANASIA, ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL, WHY IS VE ILLEGAL?
WHEN your loved one dies after 9 days on a hospital bed with only a gown & morphine administered on day 3, ask yourself this...
...Would VE be a better choice as you can be in control, suffering is shortened immensely & plan to say your last goodbyes? At least be offered a choice or simply withdraw LCP altogether
