Equal benefit payments
Responsible department: Department for Work and Pensions
The Department for Work and Pensions should make changes to the benefit payment structure in regards to the age of the claimant.
If the claimant is under the age of 25, he or she is paid roughly £56.50 per week (soon to be increased by at least £0.20 per week).
However, if the claimant is over 25 years of age, they are entitled to roughly £20 extra per week. Around £76.50 per week.
It is felt that those who are under 25 years of age, should receive the same amount of benefit, as those whom are over the age of 25.
