Teach children about climate change
We the undersigned, consider it, in the light of the rapidly changing world in which they are growing up, an abdication of our collective duty to our children not to teach them about the following issues -
The causes and consequences of human caused climate change
How to develop resilience and adaptability in the face of changes to climate
The true meaning of sustainability
The need for sustainability in all aspects of life
Respect for all life forms
The importance of biodiversity and the dangers to humans from it’s degradation
The importance of community and co-operation
How to grow and cook their food
A wide range of practical skills and the importance of them
Because of this, we call on The Government to ensure that all of these important topics are taught throughout our children’s school life, in ways which are appropriate at each Key Stage.
