Iain Duncan Smith to live on £53 a week
We call upon Iain Duncan Smith to truly show that "we are all in this together" by living on £53 per week as he has stated he would be able to do on the Today Programme. This period would have to last for a sustained length of time to guarantee a full appreciation of the impact of living on this kind of income. This would also involve all the attendant punitive measures that come with JSA claims. For example, punctuality and sustained effort will be closely monitored.
