Petition Action

Make Mobile Operators Responsible To Stop Unsolicited SMS messages.

Additional Information

Make mobile phone operators (Hutchinson 3G, Everything Everywhere, Vodafone, O2) responsible to stop unsolicited PPI and Payday Loan messages reaching their customers phones.

Generally these messages are sent bulk from unregisted sim cards or from numbers masked with the company name. They generally dont give the option to opt-out of marketing or if you reply stop you are charged 10p-12p and your number is then recognised as active and you get even more messages.

The mobile operators should be responsible for stopping these types of communication and be held accountable should they fail to stop them.
