Make work pay - State ponzi pensions/credits
I will be paying NI for up to 46 years before I can claim my state pension!
Currently you need 30 years NI to claim full pension of £110/week BUT everyone gets a minimum of £144/week (made up of state pension and/or pension credit regardless of having paid NI or NOT)
So what do I get EXTRA for the thousands of pounds in NI payments compared to someone that has never worked?
Reform state pensions to make work pay:
1) If you say you need 30 years to get £110/week then I expect another 50% for 46 years payments!
2) If you are handing out £144 to everyone then I expect the state pension to be ADDED to this! Otherwise why bother working if you get £144 anyway?
3) Better still change it to a funded pot (invested in businesses) and the more you pay in the more you receive at the end!
