stop subsidising big companies by setting a to low minium wage
government should stop indirectly subsidizing business by setting the minimum wage at or above the living wage.
this would drastically reduce the strain on the welfare system which the government seems so hell bent on at the moment, make it actually worthwhile to work and to be able to provide for youself and your family
yes there will be a transition period where business will have to cope with increased wage bill but it will balance out in the end and there could be short term subsidies to assist with this
If a company can not afford to pay the slightly higher costs, one asks if it should be in business in the first place, it needs to change its business model to a sustainable one for itself its employees and the country.
