Petition Action

Donate waste food to homeless, hospitals and charities

Additional Information

Would the government not feel that it is right to promote, given the vast amount of food that is thrown away due to it not being in perfect condition or, for instance, a day after its sell by day despite being fine, a policy whereby companies who deal in food such as supermarkets and cafes give such food that is deemed unsellable but still at a usable level, to organisations such as charities, hospitals and the homeless shelters.

This would help reduce costs in organisations that are currently struggling for funds.
