Petition for the Government to cap electricity and gas prices
Governments in France, Germany and Spain cap their electricity and gas prices.
However in this country, the large energy firms are acting as a cartel and are increasing the prices to an unrealistic level compared to their profits and wholesale energy prices to subsidise their operations in other countries.
It has now reached a point where this affecting the most vulnerable in our society and is imposing massive costs onto people's day to day living costs.
This petition calls for the government to debate a cap similar to these other countries, break up the energy cartel and to stop the rampant profiteering by the big energy companies.
