Recount votes of Venezuelan election 14th April 2013

Additional Information

This petition is to request the UK government to publicly support a recount of the votes from the Venezuelan presidential election held on 14th April 2013.

The CNE (Electoral Ministry) declared Nicolas Maduro president on Sunday night with a minimal margin (50,55% against 49.01% for Henrique Capriles).

Given presidential campaign inequalities, incidents reported (but not investigated) during the elections, the minimal vote difference, independent observers stating a no confidence vote in the process, the current protests currently taking place around the country and a CNE aligned to the government unwilling to recount the votes (allowed by law), the undersigned appeal to the international community to support the recount the votes before Mr. Maduro is sworn in as Venezuela's president.
