Switch off needless outdoor lighting on business/retail outlets during the day
In every town and city across the UK there are many retail outlets, businesses, public houses and other businesses that constantly have their floodlights and other outdoor lighting on throughout the day.
Using lighting in this way:
- serves absolutely no valuable purpose
- it is a waste of energy and resources
- and it is also bad practice, especially when facing climatic change we are all encouraged to do everything we can to reduce our energy usage.
It is time businesses got switched on cutting energy...
This proposal is to open up a debate to ban any business from having lighting on during daylight hours.
