Stop fire service job cuts - train staff as paramedics to assist Ambulance Service

Additional Information

The Ambulance service is struggling due to issues with A&E as reported in the media.
Why not use the skills of the fire service who already have first aid training, train them to Paramedic level so they can assist the Ambulance service.
Imagine a crew called to a road traffic incident or house fire, they would not only have fire and rescue skills, but an ambulance would not be needed as a paramedic would already be at the scene.
The US already have fire engines with in built ambulance facilities
