Petition Action

Ban alcohol in the house of commons

Additional Information

Responsible department: Office of the Leader of the House of Commons

Close the bars and ban alcohol consumption in the House of Commons.

In most workplaces in the country drinking alcohol and in some cases bringing alcohol into the building is a sackable offence.

MPs are doing the most important job in the country and should be expected to uphold the highest level of professionalism. We therefore should expect them not to be drinking on the job, and certainly not able to buy alcohol in the building.
