Support On Licensed Trade

Additional Information

I would like to see the government take a firm stance with youngsters who continue to knowingly use borrowed & altered official identity documents such as passports & driving licenses to gain entry to licensed premises for the purchase of alcohol.

There is no detterent to prevent this significant problem occuring where every week documents are borrowed, loaned and altered with the full intention of commiting offences under the Identity Cards Act 2006.

These needs to be penalties for those carrying out this fraud, licensed premises have a very dificult job, door supervisors are continually fighting a losing battle to ensure youngsters using these items are prevented access.

The potential financial consequences to a bar or club are huge, however, there are no penalties for those commiting this fraud.
