Children with additional needs deserve holistic assessment and care, not separate help from 'Health' or 'Education'.
We, the undersigned, believe that Parliament needs to do more to provide a joined up approach to caring for our children and young people with additional needs; the Department of Health and Department of Education working together to assess children's additional needs and provide for them.
For many years, families like ours have been batted between Health professionals and Education professionals without an holistic assessment being made of all their additional needs, causing much strain on families and far from optimal provision for the child.
A child does not just have an health diagnosis, or an educational diagnosis, they are a complex person with complex needs.
