Bicycles ridden on the road to be registered and insured.
Currently Bicycle riders commit many minor crimes such as jumping stop lights, riding on pavements etc and also major ones such as hit and run, property damage, injury etc with impunity.
Bicyles ridden on the road should be compulsarily registered, with a legible registration plate prominently affixed to allow apprehension of these criminals. In addition Bicycles should also be compulsarily insured for 3rd party damage and injury to ensure damage and distress caused is paid for.
Some sort of yearly MOT would also be helpful. Using computer databases a record of insurance versus registrations can be kept.
