Name Shoreham Footbridge after Harry Elmer
The people of Shoreham by Sea would like our
new footbridge to be named after Harry Elmer.
Harry was a local man from Shoreham by Sea and died in 1940 while operating the original footbridge. He was a ferryman before the original footbridge was built. His family still reside in Shoreham.
We want the name of the new footbridge to reflect the history and people of Shoreham and it should be named after Harry Elmer. We want West Sussex District Council to add Harry Elmer to the shortlist of names so that the local people of Shoreham can vote on it.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Because this is a local decision any petition would need to be addressed to the local council.
