Stop JD Wetherspoons (and other pubs) opening at motorway service stations.
JD Wetherspoons has been given the go ahead to open a pub at Beaconsfield services on the M40.
Given the devastation that drink driving can cause, allowing any pubs to open at service stations seems to be illogical, badly thought out, and potentially hazardous.
Regardless of any safety warnings put in place in service stations, inevitably there will be drivers who ignore the warnings and proceed to consume alcohol in a service station pub before continuing their journey if alcohol is so easily and readily available.
The government needs to act and put a ban on all public houses opening outlets at service stations to reduce the risk of drink driving.
