Keep our Science Museums Open
National science and technology museums in Manchester, York and Bradford are under threat of closure due to funding cuts.
The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, the National Railway Museum in York, and the National Media Museum in Bradford, are subject to swathing cuts which mean one or more of these world class institutions may have to close.
The UK can be justly proud of its science heritage, and science and technology are fundamental to our ongoing prosperity and prestige. National science museums play a pivotal role in educating and informing the public and developing a passion for these subjects in future generations.
Closure of any of these museums would be a national tragedy and a national disgrace.
The government must ensure that adequate funding is made available to ensure these invaluable institutions remain open and free for all.
