Additional Information

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) imposes a 6 month deadline on the reporting of misconduct or unreasonable conduct by their members. Such a time limit allows them to avoid the expense of investigating their members and provides their members with unfair protection. It is clearly in the public interest to protect the public from such unnecessary deadlines. ACCA appear to be the only professional body to impose such a rule. If adopted by other professional bodies this rule could help protect unscrupulous professionals.
