Remove 'Duty to God' from Scout Promise
- Requiring Scouts to pledge their 'duty to God' is ludicrous, archaic, and tantamount to indoctrination
- It bans children of no religious belief from joining the Scouts and enjoying its fantastic range of activities
- It demonstrates intolerance and segregation, the antithesis of values we should be encouraging in our children in a diverse, multifaith society
We want this clause to be removed so that atheists can participate fully in the Scouts.
