Drivers should be responsible for collisions with cyclists by a change in the law.

Additional Information

A change in the law were drivers of motorised vehicles are responsible for collisions with cyclists horse riders and pedestrians.

Running into or hitting a cyclist whilst cycling on a road or cycle path by any vehicle should be the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle. In the same way as the driver who runs in to the back of another vehicle is always at fault.

Any motorised vehicles should leave at least one and a half meters gap when over taking cyclists.
