Existing and new domestic abuse support services; including programmes of recovery or reformation; are to offer service provision which is anti-discriminatory and equal access for anyone aged 16 and over.
Service mission statements, literature and policy; including eligibility criteria; must clearly state equal opportunities for accessing services and receiving support. In addition to existing client groups; the services must extend to people regardless of gender, sexuality or specific abusive relationship (i.e family members).
Exemptions applicable to existing communal accommodation; where there are shared facilities. New supported housing must be appropriate for male and female tenants (i.e self-contained accommodation or bedsits within a community block).
