Council Execs to be compelled to take out insurance
A recent case with Kirklees Council has led to the Council issuing an emergency demolition order against a property of historic interest after what appears to be a catalogue of failures by Council Executives.
All senior staff and Executives within Local Government should be compelled to take out liability insurance at their own expense, against which the public can claim in the event of their failures in office impacting their subjects (public).
This would make Council staff more accountable for their actions.
