Tax Breaks for UK Games Development Studios
The UK Government should offer tax breaks to its Video Games Development Industry in order to bring it in line with other countries that offer similar policies, such as Canada.
Tax breaks are in place to support the UK film industry, and with a video games industry that has the potential to be world-leading, the UK government should almost certainly introduce a comparable policy for games development studios so that they remain within the UK and thus contribute to the economies of the countries that they are based in.
Without these tax breaks, games companies in the UK will have extra difficulty competing internationally, and ultimately may choose to move their studio elsewhere.
