Ony fund one Royal Residence
The Government, through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport pays for Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace, Clarence House, Marlborough House Mews, the residential and office areas of Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle and the buildings in the Home and Great Parks at Windsor, Hampton Court Mews and Paddocks, as well as The Queen’s Gallery. The money is used to meet the cost of maintenance and some utilities.
DCMS should fund only one property, to be chosen by the Royal Family and withdraw grant-in-aid for the remainder, which the Royal Family should pay for from their own resources, or release them for other use by the Goverment or for disposal, with resources saved used to fund the deficit.
