charities exemption
I ask the government to revise the Equality Act 2010 and the ‘charities exemption’ rule, including allowed justifications in Test A and Test B which must be amended to state: Charities providing Domestic Abuse Support Services are restricted from applying ‘charities exemption’ as to do otherwise would disadvantage people at risk of ‘controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse regardless of family relationship, gender or sexuality’ and would not be a fair and reasonable aim if people are excluded from support which safeguards them and protects their human rights including ‘right to life’ and ‘protection from torture and mistreatment’.
