Increase the building of social (council) housing in England
The government should invest money in the provision of more social (council) housing in England to help the massive housing crisis in the country and bolster the economy.
According to the charity Shelter over 1.2 million households are on the social housing list as a result of the lack of social houses and the lack of affordable housing.
Increasing the numbers of council houses will not only help a large proportion of the population but would also help boost the economy by creating more jobs and help local councils' budgets by reducing the need to rent from private landlords.
