George Cross Medal for Gibraltar
UK campaigners are calling on the British nation to give Gibraltar the George Cross Medal for not only its military service to Britain over the last 300 years, but its enduring link to the British Crown.
The decoration was awarded to Malta on April 15, 1942 by King George VI - "to honour her brave people and to bear witness to a heroism and devotion that will long be famous in history". Many in Britain now believe Gibraltar should join the people of Malta to receive this great symbolic honour.
Now is the time for Britain to genuinely stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Gibraltarians, and for the British territory to receive the UK's highest award for gallantry.
We believe the people of Gibraltar should be given our highest honour NOW!
