The teaching of RE in schools should encourage the rational enquiry of religious beliefs
The Government should seek to enhance the national curriculum so that the teaching of RE includes topics that question the doctrine and morality presented by the major religions.
A rounded education in religion should promote an understanding of all belief systems from an impartial, balanced and reasoned point of view. An equal weighting should be given to the atheist and anti-theist opinion, allowing reasonable debate on religious teachings and practices.
