Petition Action

Introuduction of a time limit for completing building works

Additional Information

Under the current Town and Country Planning Act when planning permission is granted, there is no time limit set for completion of a build. Once the building work has started the applicant can take an unlimited amount of time to finish.

This element of the act casuses neighbours to suffer unsightly and uncompleted builds with very little redress. The law needs to be changed/amened to set time limits for completion of works with stiff penanty's is the time limit is not adhered to.
