To change the statutory requirement and make property owners responsible for the removal of their Japanese Knotweed
I would like an amendment to the Wildlife and Countryside act to allow the enforcement of eradication of Japanese Knotweed from private properties where there is the potential for damage to adjoining properties. Currently legislation says it is an offence to "plant or otherwise cause to grow in the wild", I would like this changed so enforcement for removal can take place.
