Independent inspection and audit of Environment Agency
Because of a number of high profile mistakes and abuses highlighted at Insidetheenvironmentagency.co.uk and avoncliffmills.blogspot.co.uk, including a large number of news stories covering the numerous "dropped cases by the Environment Agency" due to lack of correct procedures, I would like to request that a full and independent inspection and audit of the Environment Agency is carried to find solutions to rectify these repeated mistakes. As an organisation with £1.3bn budget, with 70% coming from tax payers and far reaching legal powers, it is essential for much more stringent oversight over their operations, as in the case with the Police service and Police commission.
