Include an option for NONE OF THE ABOVE on every ballot paper
The British people are not given an opportunity to voice their opinion if none of the candidates or choices on any given ballot paper actually represent their views.
A low turnout in elections is usually attributed to voter apathy, but the electorate is never given the explicit choice to refute this, and state that none of the available choices represent their views.
This petition requests that the government should include a "NONE OF THE ABOVE" option on all ballot papers, and that this choice should be counted and announced in the same way as votes for any other choice or candidate.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
