Plans to abolish the National Census
Abolition of the National census would deprive the national of important stats such as immigration and employment.
The census records are an extremely important source of information for genealogists and for Heir Hunters tracing beneficiaries on the Bona Vacanta list.
The census records are also an important source of social history that should not be lost.
Some might argue that there are other ways of tracing people. However, the census record is the only place where you can locate ALL family members including those below voting age.
The electoral roll is a good tool, but extremely limited.
