Petition Action

Existing educational reforms will harm people, the economy and sociiety.

Additional Information

Exceptional developments in educational provision between 1970 and 2010 are being undermined through moves such as: ministerial influence on grade boundaries; removing January re-sits; along with head teachers appointed more for there ability to increase a schools position in league tables than manage a school.

This petition asks:
1) For legislation to be developed & enacted, stopping ministerial & departmental influence on awarding bodies when establishing grade boundaries
2) That January GCE AS and GCSE re-sit examinations are re-introduced
3) That state funded schools appoint head teachers purely on their ability to manage effectively, not to enhance a schools league table position.

Individuals, employers and society can significantly benefit from this proposal.
