Petition Action

A formal enquiry by the Department for Local Government into the continued failings of Blackpool Council

Additional Information

This is a petition to encourage the Department for local government to look into the continued failings of Blackpool Council.

The need for this petition came off the back of Blackpool Council losing over £350, 000 on the illumination switch on.

Other costly errors and failings by the council include the regeneration of Blackpool Promenade which was completed, only for the council to then commission a report on how they could better improve what they had done.

The constant funding of council office development and building whilst ignoring regeneration and building in the areas of Blackpool that need it most.

The constant removal of council services and redundancy of council employees to make savings to then see the council wasting money on commissioned reports or new unnecessary buildings.
All of these issues and more need looking at and this is the only way the people of Blackpool, until elections, can create a chance of accountability and change.
