Award A level grades predicted by schools and colleges if higher than results.
Award all A level students in England and Wales the grades originally estimated by their schools and colleges or the grade they received on results day, whichever is the higher.
Almost 40% of 2020 A level students have been downgraded by Ofqual's use of an unfair grading algorithm based on the supposed past performance of their schools and colleges. This grades the school, not the student.
In addition, students in schools and colleges with smaller classes (mostly private schools) have been allowed to keep A levels grades awarded by teachers, whilst students in FE and Sixth Form colleges have been subjected to this faulty algorithm, leading to lowering of their grades.
