Ensure the appeals and resit process for A-Level & GCSE students is free for all
The government must ensure that no student or school/college is forced to pay to get their grades reviewed or to resit them. This cost must be covered by the government.
Schools in the most deprived areas have seen the highest number of lowered grades. It is classist and deeply unjust to expect the cost of exam board’s biased algorithm to be covered by those who have suffered the most. During a time of economic depression and rising unemployment levels, it is absurd to leave families with the impossible choice between paying their bills and securing their child’s future.
