Petition Action

Change production farm regulations to possibility reduce the risk of Pandemics.

Petition Details

I suggest limiting the number of animals allowed in a certain area to possibly reduce the spread of these viruses.

Additional Information

Covid-19 originated in a wet market in Wuhan (Wu et al, 200 (200 citations)). Swine flu is believed to infected farm staff (Gibbs et al, 2009). Foot and mouth disease was first confirmed at a farm in England (Alexandersen et al, 2003). Perhaps changing the conditions in these farms would reduce the risks?

I suggest limiting the number of animals allowed in a certain area to possibly reduce the spread of these viruses.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you'd like the Government to consider reducing the number of animals in an area in farming, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to see happen.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
