Introduce a compulsory national ID card fo every citizen of the U.K.
Create a national ID Card to be carried by every citizen of the U.K. as proof of who they are, their right to work, their right to vote and their right to British Citizenship. This would help in identifying individuals and ensuring that their rights as British Citizens are recognised.
Incidents such as the “Windrush Saga” would be avoidable if the victims had National ID cards proving their citizenship.
Fraud could be significantly reduced by the ability to quickly identify individuals, reducing miss representation to police and officials such as returning officers.
Without an ID card it could be made more difficult for illegal immigrants and over stayers to operate in the U.K. by making ID cards mandatory for employment, opening bank accounts, renting or buying houses.
