Provide funding to increase social distancing on SEN home-to-school transport
As things stand SEN children accessing home to school transport may be placed on minibuses filled to maximum capacity and masks not compulsory due to disabilities.
We need additional buses to allow for social distancing so the children can sit apart, the same as on public transport.
I want the government to do this because even though statistics show the risk of school age children suffering serious effects from covid19, the reality is that young, healthy children have died from it. Also the children could unwittingly and asymptomatically carry the virus home or into the school setting and pass it onto vulnerable people.
Plus these children may be required mix with other children who are not part of their school "bubble" in a very confined space.
