Extend UK Tier 2 visa for migrants whose role became redundant due to pandemic

Petition Details

Create a scheme for Tier 2 visa holders whose role became redundant to claim 1 year of visa extension to find another Tier 2 visa sponsor. Currently, they have only 60 days to find new sponsor otherwise they are forced to leave the country and are not allowed to return on Tier 2 visa for one year.

Additional Information

1.UK new point-based system gives International graduates 2 years of stay after studies, and yet highly skilled professionals have only 60 days to find a new Tier 2 visa sponsor if a role becomes redundant;
2.Due to pandemic many roles filled with Tier 2 visa holders became redundant meaning the UK is loosing highly skilled workers.
3. Highly skilled professionals on Tier 2 visas are the ones who will contribute to the economic recovery of the UK after pandemic;
