Risk assessments for wearing masks for all environments.

Petition Details

To demonstrate with research the effects and benefits of wearing a mask. To accept full personal and commercial liability for anyone who suffers respiratory problems from prolonged mask wearing at work, due to governments guidelines.

Additional Information

I have grave concerns that prolonged mask wearing and their casual disposal will create more problems for people now and in the future.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular we're not sure if you're asking for more research into the use of masks, or if you want employers to carry out risk assessments for employees required to wear them.

Employers already have a duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act, and are required to carry out risk assessments by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. You can find more information here: www.hse.gov.uk/involvement/riskassessments.htm

You may wish to sign this petition:

Don't make the wearing of face masks compulsory in public places in England: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/331174

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
